Every Great Journey Begins with a Story

Like many meaningful journeys, ours began with one simple but life-changing realisation.

You don’t have to wait for life to change before you begin living it.

What began as a personal journey grew into a practical philosophy for helping people build the awareness, skills and confidence to create lives that are satisfying, fulfilling and authentic.

Why We Started

The Be. Do. Live Better. philosophy didn’t begin as a business idea or an academic theory. It began with my own journey. It began through lived experience. There was a time when life felt confusing, overwhelming and uncertain. I was trying to make sense of my own mental health, recovery and the future I wanted to build. Along the way, I realised that understanding was only the beginning. It was learning how to respond differently, build healthier habits, navigate life’s challenges and continue growing that gradually changed the way I lived.

The real challenge began in everyday life. It wasn’t found in a counselling room, but in ordinary moments—old habits, difficult decisions and unexpected setbacks. It was there that I discovered I didn’t have to wait for life to become easier before I could begin living it. It’s about learning how to live well with the life you have while continuing to grow. Over time, one truth became unmistakably clear: lasting change doesn’t happen because life becomes easier. It happens because we become more aware, more intentional and more capable in the way we respond to it.

As I continued to learn, study and work alongside others, I noticed something familiar. Many people were experiencing the same struggle. They weren’t simply looking for more insight. They wanted practical ways to navigate everyday life, build confidence, respond intentionally and continue growing through whatever life brought their way.

That realisation became the foundation of CJWorkx—a practical philosophy that helps people develop the awareness, skills and confidence to live…

fully with the life they have while continuing to grow towards the life they want.

Today, through CJWorkx, I help people bridge that gap… through practical learning, intentional action and supportive partnership, so they can build the knowledge, skills and confidence to live fully with the life they have while continuing to grow towards the life they want.

What About The Octopus?

Every meaningful philosophy deserves a symbol that reflects what it believes. For us, that symbol is the octopus.

The octopus is more than our logo. It represents the way we believe people can learn, grow and move through life—with curiosity, adaptability, resilience and purpose.

Rather than resisting change, it observes, learns and responds. It reminds us that meaningful wellbeing isn’t about becoming someone different. It’s about approaching life with greater awareness, intention and purpose while continuing to grow.

Like the philosophy itself, the octopus reminds us that we don’t have to wait for life to become different before we begin living it.

We can learn. We can grow. We can thrive.

Picture of Adaptability

Adaptability

Growth doesn't come from waiting for conditions. It comes from responding intentionally to change while staying grounded in who we are.

Picture of Depth

Depth

Real growth begins beneath the surface. Curiosity helps us understand our experiences, beliefs and patterns before choosing how to respond.

Picture of Problem-Solving

Problem-Solving

Every challenge invites us to think differently. Curiosity, intentional action and practical learning help us discover new possibilities for growth.

Picture of Recovery

Recovery

Recovery is about more than returning to who we were. It is about growing through what we've experienced with new strength, understanding and hope.

Picture of Connection

Connection

Meaningful wellbeing grows through connection. Relationships, community and shared learning help us continue growing with confidence and purpose.

Picture of Purpose

Purpose

Purpose is not something we discover. It is something we choose as we live with greater awareness, intention and commitment to what matters most.

3. Our Core Truths

Before we change the way we live, we often need to rediscover what has always been true about who we are.

These are not goals to achieve. They are truths to uncover.

Picture of I am Valuable

I am Valuable

I have inherent worth. It is not earned through achievement, determined by my past or dependent on my circumstances.

Picture of I am Whole

I am Whole

I do not have to become someone else before my life has meaning. I can continue growing while recognising that I already have inherent worth.

Picture of I am Capable

I am Capable

I can learn. I can adapt. I can grow. I can build the knowledge, skills and confidence to live well.

4. The Principles That Guide Us

These principles shape every conversation, every programme and every learning experience we create.

These principles aren’t meant to be admired. They’re meant to be lived.

Wellbeing is a skill, it can be learned, strengthened and practiced everyday.

Understanding creates awareness. Awareness gives us choice, perspective and the ability to respond intentionally.

Adaptability is strength, life will always change. We grow when we learn to adapt with intention.

Strategy creates sustainable change. Practical strategies and intentional action turn understanding into everyday living.

Growth happens in the present, change begins with the choices we make today, not someday.

Everyone has the capacity to thrive, no matter your story, you can create a meaningful, fulfilling life.
